On August 1, 2026 Region 13 Lionfish hosted a well and put together event called Region Beach Clean-Up at Santa Monica Beach between Lifeguard tower 14 and 15. During the event, I, as long with the other Lt. Governors led and directed members by providing 1 plastic bag and gloves to each team of 3-5 Key Clubbers. With the assistance of the Kiwanis chaperones they provided trash grabbers to assist in the cleanup process to ensure both cleanliness, safety, and efficiency when cleaning up the beach. After members were famished, exhausted, and thirsty, the divisions provided free water for members and were selling both sweet treats and savory snacks to ensure that there was food and water available for the members. Remaining at the Division 15 West booth I was able to socialize with members both inside and outside of my division which allowed me to form a few unexpected friendships. With these new friendships formed, I was able to film promotional videos with other divisions for their social media stories as well as tiktok reels for fun. Once division’s concluded with the selling of their food items, the Lt. Governors collectively led all the key clubbers in team games by mixing divisions which ultimately forced the members to socialize and make friends beyond thier comfort zone. As this was occuring, I sneaked on over to the the division historians and interacted with them pretending to be a photographer and cracked a few jokes then immediately went to check-in with the chaperones. Utilizing this as an opportunity to connect with the chaperones, I was fortunate to have time to discuss topics of key club to bond with them despite helping lead the event. At the end of the event I was exhausted, but, at the end of the day I was thankful and glad that our Region hosted this event.

On August 1, 2026, I attended Region Beach Clean Up, hosted by Region 13 at Santa Monica Beach, where all eight divisions collaborated to keep the beach clean, safe, and beautiful. Even though everyone had to wake up early in the morning to ride the bus to the beach, everyone was filled with excitement and the bus ride was filled with laughter. When we arrived on the beach, we met up with the other divisions and amazing Kiwanis chaperons who provided all the supplies we needed to clean the beach (which included trash bags, trash pickers, and gloves). All of the divisions brought treats and snacks such as spam musubi, cakesicles, and watermelon, as well as free bottled water, to keep the members full and hydrated from the burning sun. The heat was almost unbearable, making everyone feel sluggish. But the attending LTGs and CNH chairs were able to keep the members energized by leading spirit battles, fun games (such as Poncho), and holding a scavenger hunt. After cleaning up the beach and eating all the sweet snacks I could, the rest of the day was spent bonding with my division and other divisions, in addition to exploring the pier. By the end of the day I felt exhausted, but the event was so fun and worth it. I am so grateful I was given the opportunity to go to Region Beach Clean Up and see, meet, and talk to so many people I probably never would have met. Seeing the members, division, LTGs, and the Kiwanis work together to make such a wonderful event was so inspiring and the effort from our hosts was well received. I love Key Club so much and I'm gonna continue to attend every division and region event I can because each one is a worthwhile experience. 

On July 9th, I, alongside many other Key Club volunteers, had the opportunity to volunteer at Chino Concerts. At the event, we first helped the firefighters’ booth with their food preparations by shucking corn and foiling it with butter. We helped set up another tent and moved on to helping the Kiwanis prepare their booth. At the event there were almost 10 of us, so we split into three groups. The first group helped serve nachos; the second booth wrapped fresh off the grill burgers and hot dogs; and the third group, where I was helping, was the drink serving station where we would help serve drinks and occasionally run errands such as meat or drink restock. During the entire event, there was a band playing songs by No Doubt, who wrote various hit songs like “I’m Just Girl”. There were many listeners who set up their own chairs and towels and enjoyed the music. Many of the adults sang along and the kids were running around, dancing and jumping, and having a good time. There was so much energy going around and the atmosphere was electric! I had so much fun volunteering at the booth and listening to the band and the crowd be so interactive with each other. Everyone was so kind and It was overall a ten out of ten experience. I am definitely going to the next Chino Concerts either as a volunteer or a regular attendee!
